Anamaria Marinca bio
Anamaria Marinca, a Romanian-born actress. Her first screen appearance was in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film for which she won the British Academy Television Award as Best Actress. She speaks fluently French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her mother played the violin and her father is a theater professor in one of Romania's best theater schools. The Youth Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008 The European Film Promotion Board recognized her as an European Shooting Star. She starred as a Romanian actress in Cristian Mungiu's film 4 months 3 weeks and saptamani si 2 zile (four months 3 weeks, 4 months and 2 days) that was awarded three weeks, four months and two days) which was awarded the Palme d'Or and other prizes at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. She also appeared in Francis Ford Coppola's film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she appeared as Yasim anwar, a character from the BBC 5-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca was a guest on the Romanian drama Boogie as well as Oliver Hirschbiegels Five Minutes of Heaven. In the following year, she was a major role in 2014's Fury where she played Irma who was the German aunt of Emma.
