
Leona Louise (born 3 April , 1986) is a British performer, actress as well as activist and performer. Her birthplace and childhood was in the London Borough of Islington and was a student at Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis achieved national recognition by winning the third series on The X Factor 2006 and got a deal worth PS1,000,000 in partnership with Syco music. The winner's song, which was a cover from Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" which peaked at the top of the charts, reached the top spot for four weeks on UK Singles Chart and broke an all-time record of the milestone of 50,000 downloads in just 30 minutes. Clive Davis's label, J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums in the United States. Lewis's popularity grew with the release of her debut album of her own, Spirit (2007), which was certified 10x platinum in the UK and became the fourth-highest-selling album of the 2000s as well as one of the albums that sold the highest in UK chart the history of chart. According to the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the highest-seller debut album released by an artist of female origin during the 21st century. The first single, "Bleeding Love", went on to chart for seven weeks in the UK. 1 in the UK and was the most-sold single in 2007. Also, it was the biggest-sold song in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award next year. Echo is her second studio album. She also wrote the track "I I See You" in the movie Avatar. Lewis also released "Collide," a joint effort in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii. In 2011 she also released Hurt The Extended Play of her debut EP. Glassheart (2012) is her 3rd album of studio work. Lewis drew inspiration from electronic music and dubstep. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording material for her debut Christmas album. The Christmas album, with Love was released in the final quarter of 2013. The lead track, One More Sleep, reached the top spot on the charts in the UK. Lewis is a British solo female artist became the first to hit the Top Five with eight singles. This is more than Olivia Newton John's record which had seven.
