Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenHe enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. Alongside his role as the lead actor of The Killing and lead actor, he was also a part of two other internationally acclaimed Danish dramas: Those Who Kill, and Borgen III. He also was in the episodes of BBC drama Sherlock as Charles Augustus Magnussen (blackmailer). In the American television series House of Cards, his role was that of the President of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German and Danish as well as his native language. He also has developed several accents. According to Mikkelsen that he and his brother learned English by studying Monty Python records.
